SRM admission process begins, scholarships given

Chennai, Jun 12 : The admission process for various courses in the Faculty of Engineering andTechnology at the SRM University, recently adjudged as number one university in the counry, was set in motion today with the commencement of counselling and the Management distributing scholarships to the tune of Rs ten crore.

UG Counselling would go on till June 16 and for PG courses, the process would take place on June 17 and 18.

SRM University Chancellor T R Pachamuthu and Vice-Chancellor, Prof P Sathyanaraynan, presented the founder's scholarship -- full waiver of tution fees, hostel and transport fees, besides payment of Rs 1,000 monthly stipend -- to tenstudents who finished among the top 25 in the SRM Engineering Entrance Examinations conducted by the University.

Though the University had announced founder's scholarship to the top 25 in the Entrance Examination only ten were present to receive them. Of them, seven were from Andhra Pradesh and one each from Bihar, Tamil Nadu and New Delhi.
