Tamil Movie Review -Orr Eravu

Production: Hari Shankar
Direction: Hari Shankar, Harish Narayan & Krishna Sekhar
Star-casts: Sathish, Avanthika, Ajay, Asha
Music: Venkat Prabhu Shankar

Come and experience a new experiment over the horror genre. For those brimmed with same thoughts that ghosts would crawl all over the walls, kill its victims mercilessly and protagonist’s vain to put an end is a horror film all about, here’s a surprise.

‘ORR ERAVUU’ travels on a crispier narration as it puts an end to those cliches that were meant perpetual in horror movies.

Let’s keep it short with synopsis as it doesn’t turn to add more attention. A talk show exposes the problem of an individual, who reports that his mansion in Munnar has been possessed by ghosts. A student involved in studies of paranormal sources emerges out to sort out the mystery. Soon as he starts raveling mysteries behind the murders that took place inside that mansion, he is unaware about a gruesome enigma that’s awaited for him.

For those familiar with Hollywood’s ‘Blair Witch Project’, (a film made with low budget film and grossed with biggest collections at box office), this one may not be a new thing to experience. Nonetheless, the technical aspects are far better than the Hollywood film.

With a running length of 90mins, the audiences will surely enjoy this film as the trio filmmakers: Hari, Harish and Krishna have added the right elements of a horror film. The background score hasn’t got more scope, but has some worth-mentioning sound effects. Venkat Prabhu Shankar on his musical take deserves special mention. Since, the film has been crafted out as a docu-drama style, the narration is completely different and serious film lovers will find a lease of experience on it. There are few important sequences that’ll make your senses shudder and remains deep into your memories even after walking out of theatres.

But at the box office level, one can expect this film to do wonder as this release is queued between big tickets like ‘Singam’ and next week release ‘Raavana’.
