South African Graeme Smith feels his teammate and prolific all-rounder Jacques Kallis is the most valuable player in the history of Test cricket.
Kallis was one of three South Africans, who hit a century in the team's first innings against hosts West Indies, allowing the visitors to declare at 543/6.
The all-rounder is also only the sixth batsman to tot up 11,000 runs in Test cricket.
"In my opinion Jacques Kallis is the most valuable player in the history of cricket," Smith wrote on his Twitter page.
"Of all the players with more than 11,000 runs, he is the only one with more than 250 wickets," he said.
Kallis' 35th century has placed him just behind Indian icon Sachin Tendulkar (47) and Australian skipper Ricky Ponting (39).
